Sustainable event management


Alvaro is a civil engineer with a master’s degree in Environment and Integrated Management, and founder of Respect, a Chilean company committed to providing services and advice in sustainability for events and businesses. Alvaro has worked since 2010 in various large-scale events in most Chilean stages, including international festivals, concerts, public events, sport events, among others.

Alvaro is an ISO expert in risk management, carbon footprint calculation, energy efficiency and use of integrated systems, aligned to the organizational strategy. He has received several recognitions from national and international organizations for his sustainable management at the entertainment industry and for the rural energization project of El Romeral G-39 School, in Coquimbo - Chile.

His experience in successfully incorporating sustainability in projects with high operational complexity, high attendance and media exposure (over 200,000 users), has helped him become a leader for the entertainment industry; he has also advised producers in Argentina in 2014. 

Along with his partner Pilar López, they are recognized leaders in the sustainable transformation of the events industry in Chile, and their trajectory was key to the elaboration of the first “Good Practice Guide for Environmentally Sustainable Events,” presented in 2019 by the Ministry of Environment of Chile.
