The New Hampshire Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant Program (NHSLRP) strives to encourage lodging and restaurant facilities throughout the state to continually evaluate operations for more environmentally sustainable means of pampering our guests while protecting the place that both we and our guests love. The program promotes facilities reducing their impact on the land and natural resources through their own selected initiatives. NHSLRP strives to prosper by helping the hospitality industry realize the financial and marketing benefits associated with potential environmental endeavors.
The Green Concierge Project is grant funded through the Empire State Development and the Catskill Watershed Corporation. 150 lodging facilities in the Catskill Watershed region are receiving technical assistance to improve their economic and environmental sustainability practices. Fifty facilities will participate in a green certification program to further document and verify their sustainable practices. The project goal is to instigate environmental sustainability and economic stability one property at a time. Properties eligible to participate must be located in the counties and towns of the Catskill Watershed.
This program provides the assurance that audited lodging facilities have met environmental best practice standards that are required for a rating of one to five Green Leafs. The program began in 1998 to meet the lodging industry's desire to provide quality guest services, while minimizing their impact on the environment. Through a comprehensive and credible method for assessing the extent of the environmental measures undertaken, participating facilities can reduce environmentally-related costs and gain a marketing advantage.
By earning a rating in the Audubon Green Leaf™ Program, you’re confirming your commitment to water quality, water conservation, waste minimization, resource conservation, and energy efficiency.
