Before you register as a member of the Sustainable Event Alliance, we ask you to read and accept the Membership Charter. This charter defines a set of principles accepted by the members who commit to respect them during the course of their activities.
Membership is annual, payable via Stripe. You will receive a reminder to re-new your membership. We will not automatically deduct consequential year's membership fee from your account. The sign up process involves filling out the registration form and receiving the membership log-in to access the SEA website.
Please email us from your email assigned to you by your university or school to membership (at) sustainable-event-alliance.org. Include details of your university and course, and a sentence or two on your passion for sustainable event management, and we'll give you a free 12 month access to the SEA website.
Events may use the SEA membership logo in association with their event providing they have signed the Membership Charter and have examples of their commitments, policies or programmes on their website.
As we carefully monitor who uses the SEA membership logos, to ensure no greenwashing, members must request the logo for use. Contact us.
Event organisers and production companies may only use the logo if they have an SEA Event Sustainability Specialist within their team. Event organisers and production companies should also submit their organisation for listing, before logo use is approved, to explain their sustainability capability and offer.
Individual professionals providing 'green' event consulting or organising services must be an SEA Event Sustainability Specialist before logos can be used or being listed in our supplier database listing.
Companies and consultancies providing sustainable event consulting or organising services may only use the logo if they have an SEA Event Sustainability Specialist within their team.
Sustainable suppliers to the event industry who have provided necessary information about their product and/or company's sustainability credentials may use the SEA member logo. Suppliers should submit their organisation for listing, before logo use is approved. Once your membership has been processed and your listing approved, you will be sent an email with the logo and approval to use it.
If your organisation is assessed not to meet our requirements to be endorsed by the SEA, you will receive a 50% refund of your membership fee. You are welcome at any time to re-apply for a listing. When we email you to let you know that your listing was not accepted, you will be provided with a reason and we are very happy to discuss this in further detail and work towards a successful endorsement in the future.
